Since 26 January, areas of south east Queensland and New South Wales have been experiencing flooding. At present the extent of the impact is not yet known, however there are likely to be some delays to mail services in these areas as a result.

Belgium

Angry public sector workers protesting pension reforms shut down Belgium's schools, post offices and almost its entire transport grid on 22 December in the latest anti-austerity protest to grip Europe.

El Salvador

Customs officials in El Salvador have been striking since 28th November; delays are likely for both inbound and outbound mail to and from El Salvador.

Iceland

Iceland Post informs that due to a major snow storm on 10 January there are severe delays in mail distribution and transport of mail in Iceland. Domestic transport in the country has been cancelled or delayed.

Israel

A general strike by the public sector workers in Israel on 8 February affected all mail entering and leaving the country.

Greece
2 December ----- High
A 24 hour general strike on 1 December by the Confederation of the Greek Workers and the Association of the Civil Servants affected international mail to and from Greece.

Kenya

Kenyan postal workers held a national strike from 16-23 December 2011 halting mail services in the country during the strike.

Nigeria
13 January -----High
Nigerian Postal Workers held a strike from 6 to 16 January halting postal services in the country during that period.

Russia
16 December ----- High
More than half the international parcels and small packages entering Russia are violating customs procedures and regulations, according to Russian Post. Russia is receiving significant dutiable mail that is unlabeled and without a customs declaration or that is not fully filled and contains errors causing customs clearance delays, and causing delays in the timely delivery of these items.

Uruguay
